Mackenzie Adkins, daughter of country music star Trace Adkins, will play a Munchkin in the Nashville engagement of The Wizard of Oz, January 13-18 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC).
Ten-year-old Mackenzie is one of twelve students from the Ann Carroll School of Dance in Franklin Tennesee, who will perform in the musical at TPAC. She is a member of that school's "Song and Dance Company," directed by Jeanne McCollum and Joshua Stalls.
TRACE ADKINS “X” (TEN) was released in November 2008 and mainstream music critics have been calling this latest collection his strongest and most consistently rewarding set to date. Trace credits Frank Rogers, one of Nashville's best producers, for being so easy to work with. “Frank is such a genius,” says Trace. “He made the environment in the studio so comfortable that the creativity just flourished.”
Trace will continue promoting his new CD with even more national appearances in the New Year.
The follow up to his Top 20 “Muddy Water” single is the hilarious “Marry For Money.” The song’s lyrics has Trace setting his sights on a ‘sweet sugar mama with a whole lotta zeros and commas.’
While “Marry For Money” doesn’t officially hit country radio airwaves until January 12, the new roadhouse romp has already been the No. 1 streamed country song on www.plaympe.com, where it also charted at No. 2 of their Top 5 Downloads. PlayMPE.com is the most widely used digital distribution system available to the recording and radio industries.
When country superstar Trace Adkins looks back on his music career in the year 2008, his list of accomplishments which include releasing his tenth studio album, Trace Adkins: “X” (TEN), performing for the U.S. Armed Forces during a USO trip, and numerous concerts during his American Man tour will include taking home the No. 1 video for Great American Country’s Top 50 Videos of 2008.
