What is it about Trace Adkins that makes him a must-have guest on serious talk shows? Is he that compelling to talk to? Glenn Beck must think so because he had him on his talk show Monday night (Feb. 23) to talk about the Oscars, politics and his hit single, “Muddy Water.” Beck’s show is billed as one that looks at topics “through the lens of his unique libertarian perspective.” But it’s always the lens of Adkins’ perspective I enjoy the most.

In his new single, “Marry for Money,” country music star Trace Adkins plays a guy who has decided it’s better to marry for practical reasons like wealth than emotional reasons like love: “I don’t really care if she loves me/She can even be ugly/I’m gonna marry for money ...”
The song is off Adkins’ latest record, “X” — as in 10 — which was his 10th album in 12 years (including hits compilations).

Trace Adkins'new single, "Marry For Money," is just the kind of reactive song that excites the singer. Adkins says he's already received a lot of feedback just based on the song's lyrics, but he warns us that it's only going to get worse once the video comes out: "That's what I love about this song. The jokes are endless. You can just go on and on and I'm really looking forward to doing this video, and it's gonna be controversial and politically incorrect, and it's gonna hurt peoples'feelings and make people mad, and I love that! Let's do it. Let's get on with it!"
After his fan-building appearance on last year’s installment of "The Celebrity Apprentice," Trace Adkins earned a lot more attention in Hollywood. He sang "You’re Gonna Miss This" in an episode of "The Young And The Restless" and picked up a part in the movie An American Carol.
It’s likely not the last film that Trace will do. He gets offers, though he insists on keeping quiet about the specifics until he knows a role is really happening.
