Trace with a string section? You bet. On a stately, inspirational, common-man ballad, no less. I’ve always said this guy is underrated as a vocalist, and this is one of his most expressive performances ever.
Country music has been very, very good to Trace Adkins, and his family is reaping the rewards.
Trace has four daughters, and their home environment in Nashville is entirely different from what he experienced growing up in tiny Sarepta, La.
"My kids, they live in a neighborhood where a lot of their little friends [live] just right down the street," he told Suzanne Alexander on the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I never had that. Growing up in a real rural environment, you don’t have that where you’ve got all your neighborhood friends and you could just walk over to each other’s houses. It didn’t work that way. It was a good 20-minute bicycle ride to visit a friend when I grew up."
In the upcoming PEOPLE Special Country Issue, Trace will be featured as one of the “Hottest Guys in Country.” The magazine hits newsstands May 9, where it will remain throughout the entire month. On May 15, CMT will bring the People Special Country issue to life with a 30-minute special called “People Country on CMT” at 1:30p.m ET; 12:30pm CT.
May 10 - 8pm ET/7pm CT
