Our News 2 “Messed Up” guy, Andy Cordan, has gotten a hold of Trace Adkins. Zoinks! That’s messed up!
Andy is doing a story about some traffic problems involving Concord Road in the Brentwood area. Seems about 1/2 mile of the road will be shut down for as long as three months, and some parents, including — you guessed it — Trace Adkins think that’s messed up.
After all, school bus routes will get all screwed up, right?

"Luke McBain" Is First Original Concept Comic Book Series By A Country Artist
Country music sensation TRACE ADKINS can now add action hero to his ongoing list of career accomplishments. In November, 12 Gauge Comics unleashes "LUKE MCBAIN," a four-issue comic book series featuring a tough Southern hero that is based on the platinum-selling country star.
Other music artists have been involved with the comic book scene including Gerald Way of My Chemical Romance and Tori Amos, but Adkins is the first country artist to be featured as a fictional character in a comic book project.
Writer David Tischman (Red Herring) created the idea with 12 Gauge publisher Keven Gardner, and they spent a lot of time with Adkins to make sure "MCBAIN" feels authentic.

FT. STEWART, GA (WTOC) - July 4th means more than cookouts and fireworks for our men and women in uniform. They help defend the independence gained more than 200 years ago.
Last Friday night, two mega-performers teamed with our community to give Fort Stewart's troops and families an evening of fun.
Country music star Trace Adkins said the stage at Fort Stewart Friday was a cake walk compared to the places in Iraq where he's performed for American soldiers.
"We have deserts over here, but not like that desert over there. It is the most oppressing, unforgiving, dirty place I've been in my life," he explained.
Country Star Adkins's Bravado Belies the Warmth and Kindness Beneath
By Moira E. McLaughlin
If you're not familiar with Trace Adkins's music, you might be tempted to dismiss it as simple, formulaic and slightly sexist. He devotes one song, "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," to a woman's posterior.
"There ought to be a law/Get the sheriff on the phone/Lord have mercy, how'd she even get them britches on?/That Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," he sings.
A video for another tune, "Ladies Love Country Boys," depicts the blond-haired, black-cowboy-hat-wearing Adkins strutting down a city street, with a herd of women trailing him.
Look for a new GAC series, Soundstage, which features some of country's biggest artists, including Kenny Chesney, Trisha Yearwood and Trace Adkins.
Soundstage originally aired from 1974-1985, before returning in 2003.
"GAC is thrilled to be able to offer Soundstage to our viewers," says Sarah Trahern, senior VP of programming for GAC. "It remains a groundbreaking television concert series and will give fans a chance to see some of country music’s top stars perform in an intimate setting."
Trace Adkins' 'Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,' the song country fans seem to either love or loathe, was certified platinum last week, with sales exceeding one million. Trace is the first to admit he's shocked by the humorous song's success.
"It immediately made me laugh," he tells The Boot of the first time he heard the tune, which was written by Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Dallas Davidson. "I thought it would be a hit, but there's no way I could have envisioned a million ring tones and all that kind of stuff. And then for the video to take on a life of its own ... Yeah, it caught me off guard."
