Multi-faceted country star Trace Adkins has joined the cast of the independent feature film LIFTED, currently shooting in Birmingham, Alabama. It is the first feature to be made under the new Alabama incentive program that was passed to develop the state's entertainment industry. Written and directed by Lexi Alexander (Green Street Hooligans, Punisher: Warzone) and produced by Deborah Del Prete (Wedding Planner, The Spirit), Lifted is the story of Henry Matthews, an exceptionally talented young singer, whose happy family life is disrupted when his Marine father is re-deployed to Afghanistan. Henry, despite many obstacles, is inspired to compete in a teen singing competition.

Trace Adkins outlasted Kiss bass player Gene Simmons in the 2008 NBC series "The Celebrity Apprentice," but he forged a friendship with the blood-spitting, fire-breathing, rock & roll showman in the process.
Through that relationship, Trace found his way this past weekend on to the A&E reality series, "Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels," which is — much like its namesake — predictable in one way: It’s completely unpredictable. It’s part of what’s so appealing about Gene, from Trace’s vantage point.

Country music fans are generous! Trace knows that first hand. However he was suprised to find out recently how close they pay attention! In the past fans have brought him his favorite cake or baby gifts when his daughters were born...now they are bringing golf balls! Not just any golf balls, astute fans have started to bring his favorite golf balls (Titleist Pro V 1's) as a gift to his shows. Thanks to Trace's GIG-VIDS, fans have noticed Trace often likes to play golf before shows and wanted to make sure he always has what he needs while golfing. Just as long as fans DON'T throw the balls on the stage and only give them to him before or after the show, that will be one present we know he can always appreciate and use.
