Country music superstar, Trace Adkins is gearing up to release his highly-anticipated new single, "This Ain't No Love Song" on Monday, May 17. Written by Tony Lane, Marcel and David Lee, the song is the lead single from Adkins' forthcoming album on Toby Keith's newly formed record label with Universal Music Group, Show Dog - Universal Music.

As the title states, it's not your typical love song from Adkins but a tune on the subject with a clever twist. Adkins' voice shines to the point where you wonder if the song was written especially for him. The platinum-selling singer pulls in equal parts of a melodious ballad mixed in with some backwoods country charm.

ADKINS & SHELTON WIN ACM VOCAL EVENT OF THE YEAR!

Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins became early winners at this year's Academy of Country Music Awards when their category was presented off-camera Saturday night (April 17) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Shelton's collaboration with Adkins on "Hillbilly Bone" was named vocal event of the year. Shelton and Adkins will perform "Hillbilly Bone" during the 45th annual ACM Awards airing live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

TRACE ADKINS RETURNS TO "THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE" BOARDROOM

On Sunday, April 18, country star Trace Adkins is headed back to the boardroom with business tycoon, Donald Trump, where he'll serve as Trump's eyes and ears on "The Celebrity Apprentice," airing on NBC, 9pm ET/PT.

As Boardroom Advisor to "The Donald," Adkins will oversee both celebrity teams as they craft image makeovers for country artists Emily West and Luke Bryan.

Adkins was a runner-up to winner Piers Morgan on the popular reality series in 2008. As a result of his appearance on the show, he has raised more than a half-million dollars for his charity, The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN).

RECALLING TRACE ADKINS' FIRST NO. 1 SINGLE

Monday (April 5) marks the 13th anniversary of Trace Adkins' first No. 1 single, "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing." In retrospect, it's almost a miracle that Adkins' weathered the era at Capitol Nashville in the late '90s when management upheavals were underway at the label. Several other artists at Capitol fell to the wayside, but Adkins seemed to persevere through patience and tenacity. And the hits, as they say, kept on coming during the next decade, including No. 1's such as "Ladies Love Country Boys" and "You're Gonna Miss This." And if some of the singles -- including material as diverse as "Honkytonk Badonkadonk" and "Arlington" -- didn't make it to the top of Billboard's country chart, they helped solidify Adkins' identity as an artist.
