Trace Celebrates 10 Years As Member Of The Opry

Every light in the house was on Platinum-selling singer Trace Adkins on Friday (Aug. 23) as he celebrated his 10th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Adkins celebrated in style by closing the show with a special 30-minute segment full of his music. In an extra special touch, congratulatory messages ran on the Opry’s barn screen from the singer’s friends: fellow country stars Blake SheltonOak Ridge BoysGene Watson and Hunter Hayes, as well as Ronnie Milsap, who inducted Adkins into the Opry family on August 23, 2003.

Opry Vice President and General Manager Pete Fisher said, “It’s been a great ten years with Trace as an Opry member. He’s made trips to the top of the charts, toured from coast to coast and beyond, and become a national television personality, taking the Opry with him wherever he’s gone and also always coming home to the Opry stage. Here’s to the next ten years.”

Adkins, a Grammy-nominated artist and winner of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice,’ has experienced a decorated career, with eleven studio albums and hits such as ‘You’re Gonna Miss This,’ ‘Honky Tonk Badonkadonk’ and ‘Songs About Me.’ He’s also acquired a penchant for acting, as he played a gritty biker in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ (starring Matthew McConaughey) and has a new acting stint on ‘Mom’s Day Out.’

Congrats to Adkins on 10 years as an Opry member — and we all look forward to seeing him light up the entertainment industry for years to come.
